So many people live without a voice, their dreams constantly shattered. They merely exist, for to live is to aspire to our ideals, reaching our dreams.

Dream Weaver

As a member of the human race I was given the power of speech and authority over words and ideas. As such I am entitled to voicing my thoughts in a fashion that will make it universally understandable, a road map to my mind that anybody could follow at will. Some skill is involved, I agree, but no specialized knowledge is required to savour the words and feel the meanings I am trying to convey.
Why then are people so timid when it comes to committing their ideas to
words?
Do we fear the ridicule, the exposing of our souls' most deepest emotions left
bare?
Are we ever ready to let the world gaze upon our dreams and desires?
We hope, we dream and all these complex issues and visions are held safe within the confines of our mind, never seeing the light of day. We guard them jealously, savouring them as our own, our possessions, our own true selves.
Sometimes there is the need to speak them out loud, the sharing of ideas with others is what binds us together, gives us the unity, a feeling of belonging to more than just ourselves.
We idealize our thoughts, elevating them to status of visions, goals and ideals. Sometimes we fear what lies within our souls, for to have these thoughts, these dreams, compel us to act upon them, make them real. We will always have the need to see our dreams attained, made valid by action. We all want to be visionaries, makers of a new future. We want to live outside ourselves, sharing these dreams with others.
At some point we make a conscious decision to act upon our dreams for ourselves, for others, but then we walk into no man's land. A place where our most sacred desires are open to the scrutiny of the world, and conflict naturally resides here. Our own free will and spirit will always bring us in conflict with that of others. Sometimes the conflict is brutal and our dreams lose to those of others. Our spirit may even be dominated by others, their will winning out and leave us feeling conquered. We decide to lay down our dream. We put it aside, believing that clinging to that dream will cause us too much pain. We throw it down heaping broken dreams atop one another, the scrap heap of the soul. And we lose our will to live, little by little. Like erosion of the soul, our wills are undermined, made insignificant by the actions of others, usually people we hold dear, whose opinion we value.
Valuing another's opinion is a potentially lethal situation for the human psyche. For if we value it at the cost of our own inner voice, time and time again, we will lose all faith in our own ability, lose our credibility. We have to assert our own will also, or lose our voice forever.
So many people live without a voice, their dreams constantly shattered. They merely exist, for to live is to aspire to our ideals, reaching our dreams. This voiceless mass is where the true pain lies. To have the pain of not being, not doing was never meant for us. We turn into ourselves and fear the exposure of our minds. We fear the state of not being worthy, of having no value and it kills us, leaving our souls barren. We aspire less; we lose our drive and direction. Our lives become road maps to dead ends. We cease to care; we live in anger and indignation and forget why.
We know so many that merely plod along, doing what is expected of them by society, never considering what they expect of themselves. They lose the ability to think autonomously, becoming conditioned by failure.
When we are inhabitants of a world that doesn't care to hear our voice, we lose the ability to love and hold dear the reasons for our creation, the exultation of the spirit, the living in free will.
As we move along our path of life, we are supposed to learn and listen to the teachings of the soul. We are forever on the road to knowledge. It is our destiny as human beings to take the race memories of our ancestors and build upon it, refining it, evolving, and bettering ourselves in the process.
It doesn't take a genius to see that this becomes an impossibility when the need to aspire is lost.
We then exist in a cruel and meaningless world that forces us to be cruel also, blind to the meaning of life.
But consider the possibility that there might be a way of righting the wrong, of repairing the damage. A way that will give us back our souls and our joy. One needs to see the crux of the problem in order to reach the solution. One has to remember that the reason for this non-living and merely existing was the loss of our dreams. We must want to repair the dream loss damage, or at least have individuals who will make themselves available for the quest.
